Remember the magic three, (1) Assertion, (2) Evidence (something from our sources which backs up your assertion), and (3) analysis (your narration of the relationship between the assertion and the analysis.Don't write the paper for me. When people write for the teacher, they leave things out, assuming that the teacher already knows that stuff and would find it boring. Write the paper for an imaginary reader--one who is as intelligent as you are, but who knows less about the topic than you do. Use references to our resources as often as you can. You can cut and paste appropriate quotes, or, use paraphrases in your own language. Just don't make the whole paper an amalgam of cuts and pastes. You do not need formal footnotes. You can use body notes instead. After you have cited a source, put a note in parentheses.
