I'm very happy to be back with you today, and thanks again to those of you who sent me good wishes.  I do feel a lot better, though I'm still coughing a little.   In order to catch up  a bit, I'm not assigning any new readings beyond the ones I assigned for the period I was out sick.  Instead, I'm going to show you a video about the start of the modern Civil Rights movement--which is where we'll be hading once we finish with Plessy v. Fergusson and Brown v. Board of education.  The video is called The Freedom Riders.  We'll have to finish it on Thursday as it is a bit too long for one class session.  I'll also check on how you got along with the readings I had posted for you before I got sick.
